Cooking in the New Year
I am a little late to the party with new years resolutions, but it is never too late to try something new! Cooking is a daunting task for many people, and I have heard from many of my friends that they would like to start cooking more in 2020. I think that is a great goal! You can start small with cooking. It does not have to be an all-encompassing task every day. That is how I began my cooking journey, one small recipe at a time. It can be very therapeutic and a great way to wind down from the day by making yourself dinner.
To start, I suggest planning one meal a week you would like to cook for yourself. One home-cooked meal a week is a great place to start because you don’t have to worry about wasting too much food if you don’t complete your goal. I might be biased, but I think recipes from The Cut Cookbook are a great place to start. Having a cookbook in hand to pull great recipes ideas from can help inspire you to try something new each week. In addition, the Cut Cookbook has excellent ideas for beginners in cooking to try.
You might be surprised by how much you enjoy cooking. It is an excellent feeling of accomplishment to make a delicious meal for yourself. You can also start cooking with your family and friends, which is one of my favorite ways to cook. You can spend time with people you love and share a great meal together. Social cooking would be my one suggestion above all. Everyone appreciates a home-cooked meal. I hope you will try cooking in 2022, and don’t be afraid to try something new!
Buon Appetito,
